The Lower Sacramento River
With over 50 trout-filled miles, the Lower Sac keeps a consistent trout-friendly temperature. This creates a phenomenal environment for aquatic insects and football-sized Rainbows. Drifting through the heart of Redding, with the Sundial Bridge as your backdrop, or tossing bugs through long seams as Mt. Lassen and unique Tuscan formations tower over you, the scenery of the Lower Sac is sure to impress. Since the Lower Sac is a tail water, it is fishable for a great majority of the year.
Not only does an angler have the opportunity for multiple hookups of resident fish, the fall also provides chances of hooking up with our anadromous friend…The Steelhead.
Seasons...
The best times to fish the sac is when water levels are below 8,000 cfs. Meaning September all the way through Early June.
How we fish it...
We fish the Lower Sac out of our Mckenzie style drift boats. All of our guides are experienced oarsmen that dedicate the whole day on targeting where the fish live and getting your flies into the strike zone. During a day float, we also have certain places we like to stop and wade and fish for a period of time. If this is desired, let us know, we are working for you.
